{"id":2806,"date":"2019-04-24T12:12:54","date_gmt":"2019-04-24T10:12:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.joseph-wresinski.org\/en\/?p=2806"},"modified":"2019-04-25T09:18:17","modified_gmt":"2019-04-25T07:18:17","slug":"the-ethics-of-participatory-action-research-on-poverty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.joseph-wresinski.org\/en\/the-ethics-of-participatory-action-research-on-poverty\/","title":{"rendered":"The Ethics of Participatory Action Research on Poverty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This article is based on an international webinar entitled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.joseph-wresinski.org\/en\/event-the-ethics-of-research-on-poverty\/\">The Ethics of Research on Poverty<\/a>\u201d that was held in April 2018 as a follow up of the 2017 Cerisy Symposium \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.joseph-wresinski.org\/en\/studies\/2017-cerisy-symposium\/\">Rethinking Our World from the Perspective of Poverty &#8212; with Joseph Wresinski.<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stacy Randell-Shaheen, USA (director, Adult Learning Center in Massachusetts); Bonita Bennett, South Africa (director, District Six Museum in Cape Town); Donna Haig Friedman, USA (former director, Center for Social Policy at UMass Boston); and Bruno Tardieu, France (director, Joseph Wresinski Centre for archives and research, ATD Fourth World ) decided to deepen together the ethical and epistemological issues of participatory action research on poverty.<\/p>\n<p>The article asserts that participatory action research (PAR) on poverty needs specific ethical guidelines in addition to the general ethical principles of PAR.
