“Wat de gezinnen en mijzelf altijd weer opnieuw in verrukking brengt, is dat Christus, voortdurend bezig, het leven deelt van de armen. Het idee om de armen te laten deelnemen aan onze plannen<\/em> is een uitvinding van onze tijd. Het berust, mijns inziens, op een misverstand over de soort toenadering die er tussen rijken en armen moet komen. Wie moet wie inspireren? Bij wie berusten de levenservaringen en kerngedachten die we nodig hebben om de wereld, onze instellingen, onze godsdienst en ons geloof te vernieuwen?<\/p>\n

Jezus doet niet aan \u2018participatie\u2019, hij is een en al verbondenheid met de mensen. Van de gesprekken waar we tot onze vreugde bij mogen zijn, moet er dan ook telkens wel een verbazend nieuw licht uitstralen. Een nieuwe belichting die ons verbaast, juist omdat de allerarmsten niet gereduceerd worden tot een simpel participeren aan een gedachte, die door anderen is uitgewerkt. Zij zijn de scheppers van een gedachte, die voortkomt uit hun ervaring van de bitterste armoede. Die kan niet anders dan onthutsend zijn voor de niet armen. Dat lijkt helemaal in de logica van het evangelie te liggen”.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
