Miljoenen en miljoenen kinderen, vrouwen en vaders,<\/em>
\n gestorven van armoede en honger: <\/em>van u zijn wij de erfgenamen.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ik wil hier vandaag, op dit Plein van de Vrijheden, van de Rechten van de Mens en van de Burger, niet spreken over uw dood. <\/em>Ik getuig van uw leven.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Ik getuig van u, moeders, <\/em>wier kinderen teveel zijn in deze wereld:<\/em>
\n ze werden veroordeeld om in uiterste armoede te leven.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ik getuig van uw kinderen <\/em>die, verkrampt door honger, <\/em>niet meer kunnen lachen <\/em>en toch willen liefhebben.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Ik getuig van die miljoenen jongeren,<\/em>
\n die geen reden hebben om te geloven, of zelfs om te bestaan,<\/em>
\n en die tevergeefs naar een toekomst zoeken in deze waanzinnige wereld.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ik getuig van u, <\/em>armen van alle tijden en ook van vandaag,<\/em>
\n tot zwerven gedoemd, vluchtend van hier naar daar, <\/em>veracht en verbannen. <\/em>Arbeiders zonder beroep, <\/em>die altijd vermorzeld zijn door het keiharde werk. <\/em>Arbeiders wier handen vandaag tot niets meer dienen.<\/em><\/p>\n

Miljoenen mannen, vrouwen en kinderen, <\/em>uw hart bonst nog van strijdbaarheid. <\/em>Uw geest komt in opstand tegen het onrechtvaardig lot<\/em>
\n dat u is opgelegd. <\/em>Uw moed dwingt het recht op onschatbare waardigheid af.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ik getuig van u, kinderen, vrouwen en mannen, die niemand willen vervloeken, maar die willen liefhebben en bidden, werken en zich verenigen om een solidaire wereld te doen ontstaan.\u00a0 <\/em>E\u00e9n wereld, onze wereld, waaraan iedere mens, voordat hij sterft, het beste van zichzelf heeft gegeven.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Ik getuig van u, mannen, vrouwen en kinderen: <\/em>Uw faam is voortaan door het hart, de hand en het werktuig <\/em>gegrift in het marmer van dit Plein van de Vrijheden.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ik getuig van u,
\nopdat de mensen eindelijk rekening houden met mensen,
\nen voor altijd weigeren te aanvaarden
\ndat diepe armoede een noodlot is.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
